Birgit Pedersen Weeks, RN, MSN, CCRN |

Birgit was born in Denmark. She is a Danish Registered Nurse, graduated from Hillerød Nursing School, Hillerød Hospital, Denmark. She moved to the USA and became a RN in 1981 and a CCRN in 1982. She received her BSN in 1986 from Northeastern University, Boston Massachusetts and her MSN in 2006. Birgit is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Since her graduation, she has worked in a variety of critical care areas: neonatal intensive care, anesthetic ICU and recovery, medical ICU, CCU, and telemetry. Birgit worked at Hvidøre Hospital, a diabetic teaching hospital and research center in Denmark. She also worked as a unit teacher at Massachusetts General Hospital for 5 years. Her primary interests lie in teaching, Transcultural nursing, use of music and sound therapy and other modalities in the critical care setting. She is currently working in the ICU/CCU at Northwest Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle. Birgit is married, has two children and lives in Seattle, Washington USA. |
